Devon Piernot is from New Berlin, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison. In May 2009 he graduated with a B.S. in Cartography and GIS with a certificate in Russian, Eastern European, and Central Asian studies. Devon was an active member of the Geography Club and a DJ at WSUM Madison student radio. In the summer of 2008 he traveled to Belize with other UW students to learn and practice archaeology for the study of ancient Mayan settlements. Devon's main interests are in cartographic design and interactive web-based mapping applications. After working for the Wisconsin State Cartographer's Office, Devon is excited to use his experience in cartography and GIS to provide useful maps and geographic data for the communities in Southwestern Wisconsin.
