In 2001, SWWRPC began working with its five counties to prepare comprehensive plans for the local jurisdictions and use those plans to build county comprehensive plans.  To date, we have worked/are working with 131 jurisdictions to prepare comprehensive plans.  We expect to complete Grant County, the final county plan, in Autumn of 2009.  Following the completion of these five county comprehensive plans SWWRPC will write regional comprehensive plans that are based on these five plans.  We are excited about the possibilities of having a regional plan, particularly for transportation (including all modes), environment and recreation, economic development (updating our Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)), and the knowledge we can gain from a comprehensive look at our Region.  As that work takes place we will update this area of our website.
