Coalition Contacts
Serving Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, and Richland Counties
Several Action Teams have been formed. Those teams, their leadership, and their general areas of action follow:
Strategic Administrative Team (SAT), chaired by Barbara Daus (608-342-1282)
- Promotes the Coalition.
- Promotes communication across the region.
- Provides organizational/administrative leadership.
Finance, Agriculture & Technology Team (FATT), chaired by Bob Schatz (342-1985)/Anna Schramke (328-9452)
- Identifies and promotes start-up, venture, and other financing sources for the region.
- Develops a plan to maximize the agriculture cluster, including a state "Ag. Zone".
- Instrumental in forming the Dairy Modernization Team and Business Development Team listed below.
Dairy Modernization Team (DMT), chaired by Kevin Bernhardt (342-1365)/Kevin Raisbeck (822-3262 Ext. 2511)
- Promotes dairy modernization, agricultural education, environmental awareness, etc.
Business Development Team (BDT), chaired by Bob Schatz (342-1985) and Duane Ford (342-1547)
- Identifies strategic, high-growth industry clusters, and develops an action plan that utilizes the region's assets to further the region's comparative advantages within the clusters.
- Has proposed a Rural Business Development Center located at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville
Marketing & Tourism Team (MATT), currently not active
- Coordinates the development/promotion of a regional identity/brand.
- Develops plan for joint marketing of the area for tourism and for industrial recruitment.
Workforce Action Team (WAT), chaired by Robert Borremans (935-3116) & Sarah Burgert (328-9440)
- Looks at the various issues pertaining to a quality workforce, develops educational programs.
- Studies the availability and potential use of older workers, other groups, in meeting labor needs.
- Works closely with the Job Service & Workforce Development Board of S.W. Wisconsin/Rock.
Capitol Action Team (CAT), chaired by Eileen Nickels (nickels@mhtc.net) & Jerry Wehrle (jjwehlre@pcii.net)
- Plans annual activity for Southwest Wisconsin at the State Capitol, beginning in 2005.
- Actively seeks opportunities to attract federal and state elected and appointed officials to the area.
