Transportation Program - Flexible Transportation

Southwestern Wisconsin, as a rural region, generally does not have the population density required for public transportation such as buses or dynamic taxi-services. A number of innovative projects, therefore, have emerged in their place to help meet the transportation needs of the elderly, disabled, and those otherwise without the means or ability to drive their own vehicles.

SWWRPC is involved in coordinating these services through the Southwestern Wisconsin Transit Team (SWTT), a collaboration of our five Counties and a number of other governmental and non-governmental organizations. A project of SWTT, is LIFT "Leadership in Innovative Flexible Transportation". Anyone can call LIFT toll free to to be connected with available transportation resources that will best fit the callers needs.

As part of our work with SWTT, SWWRPC helped complete the 2010-2013 Locally Developed, Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plans for the five counties of southwestern Wisconsin. Below are draft copies of these plans, the website will be updated once the plans are approved.
