Matthew works on a variety of planning projects, serves as the Program Administrator for local Rail Transit Commissions, and administers non-metallic mining programs. Matthew grew up in Sauk County, Wisconsin. Prior to joining SWWRPC, Matthew worked as an Academic Coordinator at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. He gained experience in neighborhood planning and community engagement as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Youngstown, OH, where he worked as a Neighborhood Planner for the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation.
Matthew has a graduate degree in History from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. His areas of historical focus include Urban History, Environmental History, Public History, and American Civil Rights. He has an interest in protecting and sharing the unique natural and human-built environments of the Driftless Area. He enjoys cooking, being active outdoors and is an avid vegetable gardener.
